BASIC WHEEL MARKING A simple understanding of how custom made Diamond or CBN wheels are being mark with various combination of selection. This will help you when placing order with us.
Diamond: Diamond Application: carbide, glass, ferrite, graphite, spray-on-wear coatings and other hard nonferrous materials. CBN = Cubic Boron Nitride: A synthetic abrasive second only to Diamond in hardness in the periodic table CBN Application: Can be used on high speed steel, alloy steel of >50 HRC, and some grades of stainless and cast iron. 6070 70/80 80/100 100/120 120/140 140/170 170/200 200/230 230/270 270/325 325/400 500 600 800 1000 1200 1500 Rough Grinding Medium Grinding Finishing Super Finishing Grit Size Grade L Softer N P R S T Harder Concentration 25 Lower 37 50 75 100 125 Higher Bond B = Resin M = Metal V = Vitrtifed P = Electroplated Abrasives Dept 3X 5X 6X Core Materials Aluminum Resinol Copper Resinoid Bakelite Aluminum Steel
Grinding Condition: User may further indicate the type of grinding condition the wheels are subjected to. We are capable of custom making wheel suitable in various grinding condition like, oil or wet grinding, dry grinding or both wet/dry grinding condition.
General Grinding Guidelines: 1. Select the correct wheel shape and size. 2. Decide the most appropriate grit size for the job. 3. Depending on the material to be ground, choose the correct superabrasives (Diamond or CBN) and the right bonding for the wheel. 4. Always dress the wheel on its arbor or wheel flange, especially if it is a new wheel. 5. Practice the good grinding habit of balancing the wheel. 6. Dress your wheel regularly during production or in-process dressing when applicable. 7. Use wet grinding whenever possible, it gives better finishing to the work piece, reduce the wheel wear rate, reduce frequency of wheel dressing and even thermal damage to your work piece. 8. Always indicate to us if you need to purchase a dry grinding wheel, it is make differently from a wet one. 9. Always ensure that coolant used are clean, dirty coolant will affect the finishing of the work piece. 10. Use a high pressure, high flow coolant system. 11. Mount your coolant nozzles relative to your wheels for effective cooling and chip removal. 12. Use laminar flow nozzles whenever possible to achieve these maximum effect. 13. Keep coolant clean and well maintain them, replace dirty coolant. 14. Machine condition, coolant cleanliness, material being ground and depth of cut will all have an effect on surface finish. 15. Ensure to follow all safety requirements.
